Hair loss (Male Pattern Baldness)
What is it?
Male pattern hair loss also called androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss in men. It often occurs in the temple region and gradually progresses to the classic bald spot. The hormone dihyrotestosterone (DHT) which some men are more susceptible to is responsible for the gradual effect of male pattern baldness.
Although it is mostly men who suffer with this is can also occur in some women. Women tend to suffer with diffuse hair loss which is more thinning of the hair opposed to balding. It can be due to trauma, stress, hormone disorders, excessive dieting, certain diseases or drug treatments.
How to treat it
Laser hair loss therapy, Medical needling and mesotherapy are the most common treatments for hair regrowth.
